Thurlbear Primary School is a small country school that serves the villages and hamlets of Neroche Parish and adjacent areas
Its fine reputation is based its high standards and achievements for which the staff, governors and parents are justifiably proud
The school was established in 1872 and is a Voluntary Aided School, which means that the Church is represented by a majority of the Governors and that the teaching staff are in sympathy with the Christian Faith as expressed by the Church of England. The School celebrated its 125th Anniversary during 1997
Its aim of the school is to give children a foundation for life, in a Christian, caring atmosphere and prepare them for their developing role into the secondary stage of their education
